GENERAL PURPOSE

We are seeking a highly capable Regional Project Manager to lead industrial capital projects from Front-End Loading (FEL 1–3) through execution, commissioning, and closeout. This role represents the owner’s interests end-to-end, ensuring projects are well-defined before approval and executed with discipline after funding.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • FEL Phase Leadership (FEL 1–3): Define project scope, support the development of business cases, lead concept selection, cost estimating, execution planning (WBS, SOW’s, integrated project schedules, resource planning, contracting strategies, risk management, cost management, procurement management, safety management, etc.) and prepare capital approval materials.

  • Transition to Execution: Validate readiness, establish baselines, and ensure seamless transition into execution phase.

  • Execution Leadership: Manage engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities.

  • Governance & Oversight: Establish KPIs, reporting cadence, lead project and portfolio update meetings across a range of stakeholders and leverage and decision-making frameworks.

  • Contractor & Vendor Management: Lead OEM and contractor coordination, enforce accountability.

  • Cost & Schedule Control: Maintain budgets, forecasts, and change control discipline.

  • Site Leadership: Conduct milestone-based site visits and ensure safe and high-quality execution.

  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure adherence to industrial safety, food safety, and regulatory standards.

  • Stakeholder Communication: Provide clear, concise executive updates and escalate risks effectively.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related).

  • 8–10+ years in capital project management in industrial manufacturing (FEL and Execution phases).

  • Proven success managing smaller <$5M and larger $50M+ industrial projects.

  • Demonstrated experience in Front-End project development (FEL1-3) in a stage-gate approval process, as well as execution delivery in industrial manufacturing operating environments.

  • Strong knowledge of cost estimating/project controls and developing contracting strategies.

  • Experience leading and managing major projects in a virtual/remote environment.

  • International project experience.

  • Fluent in English & French.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

  • Food, flour or feed milling, or bulk materials handling experience is preferred.

  • Experience in emerging markets (Africa).

  • PMP certification is a plus.

  • Working knowledge of combustible dust risks, GMP/Food Safety design concepts, and industrial utilities and plant system.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

Work may be performed in a manufacturing or professional office environment and involves frequent contact with others as part of Seaboard’s collaborative culture. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to hear and communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, and with sufficient mobility to perform assigned tasks. Regular use of standard office equipment, such as computers and phones, is required. This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending pushing, pulling and/or extended sitting and standing. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. The position requires specific vision abilities, including close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
